Get A Bonded T1 For More Speed

Do you have a T1 but need more speed? Do you have cable or DSL but want more security? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then a bonded T1 may be the thing for you.
A standard T1 connection is 1.5 Mbps. With a bonded T1, also called a multiple T1, you can increase your bandwidth and your speed by multiples of 1.5 Mbps. So, two T1's bonded together equal 3.0 Mbps, 3 T1's bonded equal 4.5 Mbps, 4 T1's equal, 6.0 Mbps, etc.
Most carriers will stop bonding T1's together at 8 which gives you a total of 12 Mbps.
Some carriers offer a router along with their bonded T1 product. If you do not have your own router for a bonded T1 and want to increase your speed, that is probably the best way to go. Bonded T1 routers can be tricky to configure, so if you don't want to be bothered and the carrier is willing to manage it for you, let them!
A managed router is just one of the many details involved in pricing out a bonded T1. There are different term lenghs involved, different carriers offering different promotions, among other things.
